Relight Session is a program in which artists, creators, businesspeople, government officials, and others with various different positions in society consider the role of art and art projects in society since 3.11.

Relight Project × MEDIA AMBITION TOKYO / Relight Session Vol.2 will be a talk session entitled Socially Engaged Art: Men of Action, featuring guests Seiichi Saito, Daisuke Tsuda, and Tatsuo Miyajima. The term “Socially Engaged Art” refers to the activities of artists who bring about some kind of change or transformation through their links with society that transcend the realm of art. With these three speakers who are trying – and succeeding – to use art to transform society, not only by asking questions of society, but also by taking action, going beyond the boundaries of their respective fields of activity, we will discuss specific activities aimed at using art to achieve social change in our post-3.11 society, as well as the role of and approaches to art and art projects in the future.
