This spring’s “Taidan Kikou” round table session marks the third year for art project Tokyo, Soup, Blanket and Travelogue, which began with Shirotama Hitsujiya at its core. At the start of this year, project members walked from station to station along the Toei Oedo subway line, visiting reminders of places buried under Tokyo’s layers.
This session’s guest is Kanayo Ueda, who talks about the “funerals” proposed at the last “Taidan Kikou” round table session. In the second half of the session we would like to reflect on the “memories” we saw during our walk around the city of Tokyo, and how they have changed.
We want visitors to this event to join us in thinking about whose city it is, and the “when wheres and hows” of the city. And what are the little “musical rests” for we who live there?
