School of Thought, Skill, and Dialogue: Briefing

Genre:
  • Others

A briefing will be held for the Basic Program beginning in June.

Structured over a three-year period to provide the basic “thought,” “skill,” and “dialogue” capabilities needed for art project work, this year-long program for people looking to get involved in art project administration features lectures in a “Thought module,” a “Skill module,” and now a brand-new “Dialogue module.”

The “Thought module” focuses on fleshing out a deeper understanding of the different areas that art projects operate in. The “Skill module,” meanwhile, helps people who have completed the “Thought module” and other participants learn about the process of taking an art project from start to finish, understand the need for administrative work, and then hone the practical skills that go into actual art project operations. The “Dialogue module,” designed for people who have already gone through either the “Thought module” or the “Skill module,” allows participants to develop the multi-faceted perspectives, planning and operation abilities, and interpersonal capabilities that art projects demand through a year of working with artists in the field.

As well as a detailed introduction of program contents and features, the briefing will include a talk session by guest Toru Nakazaki. Please feel free to come along.

Thought Skill and Dialogue is being run as part of Tokyo Art Research Lab (TARL), which was established for the purpose of art project research and human resource cultivation. As well as the year-round Basic Program providing skills needed to get art projects off the ground, TARL provides learning opportunities for creating art projects with its Introductory Program focusing on an overview of art, and a short-term Intensive Course on practical themes.
