“Thought” refers to the ability to observe social trends and consider the types of projects needed and the operating systems (OS) required to implement those projects. “Basic Program 1: Thought Module,” which cultivates the thinking power to activate art projects, consists primarily of classes which hone the powers of thought and imagination. Through classroom dialogues and assignments, participants will learn as they ask questions such as “Why do we carry out art projects?”, “How should we approach social issues?”, and “How do I want to be involved?”
Knowing the work
Topics include:
Jobs at offices of art-related NPOs
Art project coordination and negotiation; public relations; recording, evaluation and review
Partnerships with other fields
Installation of works (visual arts, theater)
Participants will learn from guest lecturers–leaders in their fields–what the work of art project settings is.
Visits to art project sites in and around Tokyo are also included in the program.
Deepening insight, widening imagination
What sorts of art projects are needed?
This will be considered from the perspective of social themes and diverse values.
Towns, regions, communities, lifestyle, work, communication, coexistence, public interest, society, etc. Based on these themes, experts from fields such as fine art, theater and architecture, and researchers in sociology and other areas, will be invited as guests.
