Seminar: "Weaving Words from the Field"

Genre:
  • Art Project ,
  • Lecture / Symposium

“Tokyo Diversion Research” is a program consisting of “practical research through dialogue.” In the process of sharing ideas about issues with people from diverse backgrounds, participants become aware that they regard their own way of thinking as “the norm,” incorporate the perspectives of others and, through their newly acquired points of view, arrive at a fresh understanding of various issues. In this way, the program places importance on clarifying approaches that had been overlooked and putting them into words in a thoughtful way.

“Seeing one’s own activity in an objective way, putting it into words, and communicating it to others.” For many people, this approach will be needed in a variety of life situations.

In this seminar, we are seeking people who would like to try “sharing ideas with others and putting them into words” in relation to activities and situations of interest to them, in fields involving a variety of people–care, art, education, community, household, workplace and so on. Each session will be a practical seminar made up of a lecture and a workshop.
