Introducing the Children Launching Project: A group of adults including playwright, actor and director Hideto Iwai, actor in TV and film; and dancer Mirai Moriyama and musician, singer, song writer, and actor in film Kenta Maeno take children’s whimsical ideas and flashes of inspiration, and rush about trying to turn them into a polished theatrical production.
It all started with Hideki Noda wondering if it was possible for him and the others to pool their resources and create a piece of theater from a script written by children.
So word buff Iwai, body and movement aficionado Moriyama and song-lover Maeno got together to establish a “universe” dreamt up by children which a grown-up would never be able to imagine. Their objective was a quality stage show that both adults and children could enjoy. The title “Namuhamudahamu” was invented by the children in the workshops as a word to mourn the dead.
