Art Bridge Institute director Chihiro Minato hosts discussions on the theme of ideas and people from the metropolis in this talk show series, which aims to build bridges among the various components of society, community and art.
The guest for this session is Kio Griffith, a broad-ranging curator, artist and editor based in Los Angeles and Japan. Constantly on the move, this interdisciplinary artist who works with art, design and sound is arguably at the forefront of post-Internet, neo-conceptual art. As well as an introduction by Griffith to his work, this session attempts to unlock the secrets to the astounding creativity of an artist who implements over 200 projects a year worldwide.
*The talk will be held in Japanese.
For this summer’s 2016 Aichi Triennale, Griffith will present a new installation based on short voice recordings of people from all over the world reading phrases about particular colors which he has grouped according to color.
Following the discussion, the artist and organizers hope to record the “voices” of attendees (for about five minutes per person).
