3DCG projection of “The Tower of Babel” and virtual concert

In conjunction with Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum’s special exhibition Bruegel’s “The Tower of Babel” and the “Study of BABEL” exhibition at the Arts & Science LAB of Tokyo University of the Arts, a 3DCG projection-mapping image of “The Tower of Babel” created by Tokyo University of the Arts’ Center of Innovation (COI) will be displayed at The Ueno Royal Museum in Ueno Park.
Accompanying the projection will be music by Bruegel’s contemporary, composer Monteverdi, recorded specially for this event. We look forward to seeing you at this fascinating event blending art and music.

  • Date/Time: Friday, May 12 2017, 1st projection 19:00 / 2nd projection 19:30 (15 minutes each)

Hikari Art Project
The footpath between Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum and Tokyo University of the Arts’ Arts & Science LAB in Ueno Park will be transformed into a path of light illuminated by a string of light projections of “The Tower of Babel” during evening opening hours on Fridays of May 19, June 2, June 16 and June 30.
Friday evening visitors to the Tokyo University of the Arts exhibition will also be given a free fan in the shape of a cloud from “The Tower of Babel”! (the first 5,000 visitors).
