At “Geisai,” the campus festival of Tokyo University of the Arts (Geidai), all first-year students take part in creating eight “GeidaiMikoshi” (portable shrines). Making use of the GeidaiMikoshi, which are well known as a seasonal tradition of the Ueno area, various events will be held including a mikoshi parade in Shioiri Park and musical performances along the Sumida River.
