“Open Children’s Center” will be held at Nakamura Children’s Center and Shakujii Children’s Center. These programs are planed and organized by children.
“Open Children’s Center” will be held as part of the “After-School Art Plan*.” Starting in October, four Nerima-city children’s centers (Nakamura, Shakujii, Hikarigaoka and Sekimachi) have collected kids’ ideas about what they’d like a children’s center to be, and received about 700 idea sheets! some of these ideas will be put in practice in these programs and also some ideas will be presented to the public at the Nakamura and Shakujii Children’s Centers. If you’re interested in children’s centers and community activities for kids, or in spaces for kids and art, don’t miss this afterschool play experience for children.

A cooking battle between junior high and high school boys will be held at Nakamura Children’s Center. The spectators will become judges, tasting the dishes prepared by the students and deciding which is the most delicious. Junior high and high school kids are hungry after school, so we’ve received a variety of project plans revolving around food. Come and hear about the plans we’ve collected so far.

Shakujii Children's Center "After-School Experience Tour"

Advance reservation required / Admission free
Capacity: 30 persons (first come first served)
* For reservation details and further information, see the official website.

At Shakujii Children’s Center, we’ll introduce the children’s center through manga, characters and animation that kids have made in after-school arts and crafts, and hold a tour in which participants can experience various type of play. At Shakujii Children’s Center, kids are planning projects based on the themes of disseminating information about the children’s center through original characters, and making rules for the arts and crafts room in order to use it as they like. Come and hear about the plans we’ve collected so far.
