Tokyo Stay Dialog Onsite Vol. 02
“How to look at and decipher the neighborhood.”

Genre:
  • Art Project

“Tokyo Stay” is a project that seeks to unearth untapped narratives in Tokyo through the experience of the “stay” (stopping and standing). In this talk series, the multi-genre practitioners who make up the members of Places and Narratives (NPO) use different themes and lineups to explore and unravel Tokyo and the “stay” from each standpoint.

The theme for the 2nd session is “How to look at and decipher the neighborhood.” We get our information on neighborhoods and communities through magazines and online media, and we transmit messages to society through the design of our communities. The media or editorial perspective has the power to decipher familiar landscapes and discover as-yet unseen new “places.”

Speaking at this event are Motoko Imada (CEO of Infobahn and Mediagene) and Takuya Oikawa (Editor in chief of colocal, Magazine House, Ltd.). Accompanied by interviewer Takayoshi Komatsu, whose company Ridge-i offers borderless solutions from art support to AI development, our guests talk on the theme of “how to look at and decipher the neighborhood.” They cover subjects ranging from regional branding, an imaginary “Tokyo Special” feature, as well as how the individual can find their place in the city, a component of the science of happiness.

Participants will need to complete an advance questionnaire for application. On the day we will hold a discussion involving the audience, so please join us.
