Based on the theme of “Look. Listen. Imagine,”the third outing for this art project will see two groups of artists from overseas and three Japanese artists explore Ueno’s history and cultural resources from their own unique perspectives to create and present works of art.
This three-day event introduces new artworks closely related to Ueno and the surrounding area, including screenings of new video works shot in Ueno by Masahiro Wada and Maiko Jinushi, both prominent artists in Japan in recent years, as well as Tsuyoshi Ozawa’s new project “Research Lab Incomplete”in Yanaka. Other offerings include “Ueno Care Club” by Singapore-based Post-Museum, and a sound installation by Filipino artist Mark Salvatus.
Through lectures and workshops in a variety of fields, this art project provides a forum for social practices that respect others and care for each person. There will be a series of workshops for learning about diverse ways of living and ways to connect with others.
