Shizumu Oto: Musical performance with earthenware instruments

Genre:
  • Art Project ,
  • Performance

Children join musicians for a musical performance with earthenware instruments made by the children in the workshop “Shizumu Oto: Calming sounds (Let’s play earthenware instruments).” Now, you can catch the performance online.

It is said that a long, long time ago, a dragon lived in “Ryuogaike,” behind Ryoudenji Temple. Workshop participants will be playing music to calm the dragon. After the performance, the instruments will be returned to the earth.

With thoughts of the legend passed down in Tadao, we would like to offer up the sounds we make now, and encourage participants to feel that each of us today plays a part within the wider flow of time that will carry on for the next 500 years.
