“The town is an art museum for everyone”’20 Festival Online talk “Walking in the coronavirus pandemic”

Genre:
  • Art Project ,
  • Lecture / Symposium

This lecture series gives participants the opportunity to uncover questions themselves, developing and learning together through acts of creation, expression and transmission. It has been implemented since 2019 with local townspeople.
For 2020, we were joined by dancer/choreographer Osamu Jareo as director, and poet Sayaka Osaki and dancer/walker Yuki Furukawa as guests. The guests engaged in creating forms of expression together.
In the process, Jareo, Osaki and Furukawa began creative experiments under the theme “walking in the coronavirus pandemic.”
In this talk, Jareo, Osaki and Furukuwa will present the resulting works. They will also be discussing their thoughts during the creation of their pieces.
What does walking mean at the present time? What is the significance of thinking about walking done by other people? What is the meaning of and possibility for carrying on the experiences of others through creation, and for the act of creation while carrying on these experiences? Hopefully, this discussion will provide a platform for the consideration of things like these.
