In this program, the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum’s exhibition rooms open specially when galleries are closed on Mondays. The program teaches children to enjoy art through encountering authentic works and discussing them with special “Art Communicators.” A free shuttle bus service is also available providing transportation from schools to the museum.

Eligibility

Nurseries, kindergartens, elementary/junior high/high and special needs schools in Tokyo
(Requests accepted on a per-class basis/includes special needs classes/older children for nurseries and kindergartens)
– 2-3 schools per day
– Maximum 100 persons per school

Application deadline

(1), (2): Thursday, July 1, 2021 * The application period has been extended for the afternoon slot only for (2) on Thursday, July 15, 2021.
(3): Wednesday, September 1, 2021
(4): Wednesday, December 1, 2021
*To be decided by lottery if oversubscribed. Applicants will be notified of the results within 2 weeks of each deadline.
