This three-part workshop series gives kids an extraordinary opportunity to explore art and music at the International Library of Children’s Literature, National Diet Library, the Tokyo Bunka Kaikan, and the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum.
For the first workshop, the kids will learn about the world through picture books at the International Library of Children’s Literature and then turn what they learn into hands-on projects with the help of instructors at the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum. At the second workshop, which will meet at the Tokyo Bunka Kaikan, the participants will work with Tokyo Bunka Kaikan Workshop Leaders to make music—singing and dancing included—out of the ideas they’ve started to develop through their explorations of picture books. The last workshop will take participants to the natural setting of Ueno Park, where they will exhibit their creations for all to see.
