Joining the Dots vol.4: sociologist Fumitoshi Kato

What is communication? A view of future city and town development emerges with a reconsideration of communication.

Genre:
  • Art Project ,
  • Lecture / Symposium

In this volume of Joining the Dots, the theme is “communication,” and our invited guest is sociologist Fumitoshi Kato.

Professor Kato is working on the art project Miyakejima University as part of Tokyo Artpoint Project. He also carries out a variety of activities on the theme of communication. These include the Curry Caravan, in which new communication possibilities are explored through the process of making curry–using ingredients from the visited area–together with people who happen to be present at that time and place.

Along with Professor Kato, who is an expert on communication and the situation of outlying islands, we will think together about communication in local areas and the potential of communities.
