Tokyo Art Meeting pursues new possibilities through encounters between contemporary art and various fields of expression.
In the run up to the 2020 Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games, numerous discussions have taken place and plans made to decide how to reassess the city of Tokyo in a global context. This exhibition will focus on Tokyo’s potential to remix the sub- and pop cultures that intersect the context of conventional art history to give birth to new creations. It is an experiment in realizing Tokyo’s creativity, not limited to the visual arts, but encompassing a wide range of media, including music, video and design.
