Business Overview

In July 2026, Co. Ruri Mito held a performance titled "Mizuumi" at the Theater Tram.
Taking Kawabata Yasunari's novel Mizuumi as its theme, this project aims to explore the possibilities of modern Japanese body aesthetics by depicting "the coexistence of beauty and evil hidden in the human unconscious" through body expression. From the viewpoint of Ruri Santo, this project made the most of the individual physicality of the six dancers (Kaeko Ikegami, Sotaro Ito, Ayai Kodama, Mariko Shibata, Rena Hashimoto, and Risa Makino) and created scenes full of imagination. In addition, the music of Yuta KUMACHI set up the scene with dramatically beautiful music, and the technical team members, who teamed up together for the first time with lighting designer Yukiko YOSHIMOTO and sound designer Raku NAKAHARA, created a fantastic and sometimes realistic stage scene.
Together with Tomoko Inamura, she created a beautiful yet elegant costume for each dancer, and spread sand in an oval on the stage to create a psychological picture of the outline becoming disordered as time passes.
