What we do

Music and Performing Arts educational program

This is a projecting aiming to develop human resource in various artistic fields by working to deepen understanding and interest in the performing arts among youth. In cooperation with the Tokyo Bunka Kaikan “Opera Box,” outreach programs and concerts will be held at schools, hands-on workshop experiences allowing youth the opportunity to come into contact with arts and culture will be provided, and workshops offering professional guidance on musical instruments will be held.

Preschool-age children (3-6 years old) and a parent or family member

*Adults not accompanied by children, and children under 3, will not be admitted.

*Please bring an instrument (object) that makes a sound when hit.
In one segment of the concert, audience members will have a chance to play together with the musicians.
Examples of instruments: castanets, two pens, a plastic bottle filled with marbles or beans
*If you like, you can clap your hands instead!
*Please make sure children do not make sound with the instruments during the musicians’ performances.

Music and Performing Arts educational program Workshop - "Let's Make an Opera!"

As part of the Music and Performing Arts educational program, “Let’s Make an Opera!” is a workshop program which aims to develop the talents of people interested in the arts.
The workshops, which are held in conjunction with the Tokyo Bunka Kaikan Opera BOX “Carmen”, include children’s chorus and dance, construction of props and other stage materials, and stage design.
