The project started in 2010 by artist Tadashi Kawamata to reconsider Tokyo in light of the new scenery that has sprung forth along the banks of the Sumida River in conjunction with the construction of TOKYO SKYTREE. Through a program centered around the Shioiri Tower, Tsukuda Terrace and Toyosu Dome (open to the public until November), constructed on the city’s waterfront that serve as points for observing changing cityscapes, the project raises attention to the metropolis Tokyo, a city in progress.
