Kuro Tanino, the leader of Niwa Gekidan Penino, under a commission by the public theater Krefeld und Mönchengladbach in Krefeld, Germany, produced and performed a new play, Mizu no ori [Cage of Water], together with theater staff and actors during a two-month residency that began at the end of January 2015, drawing a great response including newspaper and radio coverage. The public talk will present three people discussing their involvement with this production-in-residence. The talk will also incorporate film of this valuable experience by a Japanese director and playwright to be commissioned by an overseas theater to create a repertory work performed at the theater throughout the year.
