This project aims to promote awareness of and popularize organ music in Japan, and enhance exchange between Japan and the countries of the invited guests. This year the exchange is with Scotland, a country which helped shape the foundations of Japan’s Meiji government. Organ music from Scotland is being presented at the festival this year for the first time, and the works to be performed include Scottish folk songs that all Japanese know from their school music textbooks.
