Outline

Philosophy of gallery αM is creating opportunities for artists with potential whose creative output is of a high standard to exhibit their work, and to provide a forum for exhibition planning by curators who can deliver novel values to society. The gallery organizes exhibitions with a guest curator, and most recent exhibition entitled “Trans/Real: The Potential of Intangible Art” is curated by Umezu Gen, Curator of the Museum of Modern Art, Saitama, and it will introduce works of 10 artists including Koshino Jun(1967-), Gocho Tatsuo(1958-), Suenaga Fuminao(1974-), Yaegashi Yui(1985-), Aikawa Masaru(1978-), Ozawa Yuko (1984-), Tsunoda Toshiya (1964-), Ito Atsuhiro(1965-), Bunya Yukari (1985-), and Tanaka Kazuhito(1973-).

【gallery αM】
gallery αM was established in Kichijoji in 1988, and it has been unearthing new talent mainly in the area of contemporary art and providing a platform to present them and their work to the world. In April 2009, a new, non-profit gallery αM was established in the central Tokyo neighborhood of Bakurocho. The gallery organized 208 exhibitions curated by 24 guest curators from 1988.
