As this is the first conference that will be held at an art university in the 14 years of Cultural Typhoon’s history, the conference will focus on art and cultural practices; particularly practices related to society, the formations of the city and globalization.
Cultural Typhoon conferences have assembled 500-1000 participants that include several keynote and plenary speakers, from all over the world and in particular, from Asia. This year, we will invite Prof. Lawrence Grossberg as a keynote speaker at the conference.

Cultural Typhoon is a cultural event that involves presentations and interactions based on an equal relationship among individuals of various positions. Unrestricted by the existent form of academic conferences and symposiums, this event aims to facilitate a space for free and vigorous exchange of opinions as well as intellectual discussion between scholars within the academia as well as amongst social activists and artists who express themselves through myriad types of media.
