Outline

The year 2016 marks the “150th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations between Italy and Japan.” For this project, at the invitation of the Embassy of Japan in Italy, the group will hold a performance at a government-sponsored commemoration ceremony in Florence and give concerts at renowned Italian universities in Bologna, Milan, and Naples.

【Japan Performing Arts Association】
Japan Performing Arts Association (“JAA”) was originally established as “Japan Traditional Cultural Saloon Ginbokukai” in November 2007. It was reorganised to a general incorporated association organised under the “Act on General Incorporated Associations and General Incorporated Foundations” in September 2009 and renamed to Japan Performing Arts Association, with a view to more focusing on social contribution through promotion of traditional Japanese culture and performing arts in Japan and overseas contributing to the international cultural exchange.
JAA is managed by the directors including Mr. Haruo Misumi as the honorary chairman, who is the incumbent chairman of the Performing Arts Society, Mr. Hideo Shimoda, as the ceo, who is ex-chief producer in traditional performing arts division at NHK and Mr. Katsuo Suzuki, ex-executive director of Isetan Co., Ltd.
