Profile

Sample
Theater company led by playwright/director/actor Shu Matsui. After his plays had featured in Seinendan’s independent production series for young Seinendan members, he left to form his own company in 2007. The curiously seamless style with which Sample actors and staff develop the fragments of the confused and mysterious world Matsui portrays has won acclaim across the generations. “Jiman no Musuko” (2010) won the 55th Kishida Kunio Drama Award.
