16th NISHITAMA West-Tokyo Photo Contest & Prize Winners’ Special Exhibition

Outline

This is the 16th photo contest and special exhibition of prize-winning photographs on the enchanting nature, culture and lifestyle of four cities, three towns and one village in the Nishitama, West-Tokyo area. The photographs to be exhibited showcase how rich and expansive a world of nature can be found within the Tokyo metropolis. The opening day of the exhibition in Yutorogi will feature the final round of judging to select top prize winners, as well as photo lecture conducted by guest wildlife photographer, Gaku Miyazaki.

【Nishitama Hyakkei Photo Exhibition Executive Committee】
The committee, made up of groups running photographic society activities in the Nishitama area, and photo club leaders from local metropolitan high schools and public junior high schools, holds a steering committee meeting once a month. This year marks the 16th outing for its annual photo contest. With the number of winning works to date reaching 1,500, the competition has become Nishitama’s largest.
