An independent performance organized by Shinnai Tagatayuu, presenting “Ichinotani Futaba Gunki – Kumi Uchi no Dan.” Key performers are Shinnai Tagatayuu, Tsuruga Kiyojyurou, Shinnai Katushizu, Shinnai Katsuichirou and Tsuruga Iseichirou. The story, which unfolds in two parts, depicts the sorrows that befall characters (and the people around them) who lived and died at the time of the Genpei War.
Shinnai Tagatayuu is the seventh iemoto in the Fujimoto branch of the Shinnai-bushi genre. He began studying with his father, the Living National Treasure Shinnai Nakasaburou, at the age of six. He gained his doctorate in musicology in the field of Shamisen music in the Musical Research Department of the Tokyo University of the Arts graduate school with a dissertation entitled “The origins and development of the Uwajyoshi tuning with reference to the koto”.Recent major awards are the New Artist Prize of the Ministry of Education,Culture,Sports,Science and Technology in the 65th Arts Awards in 2015,the Japan Traditional Cultures Foundation in he 22nd Annual Prize in 2018etc.He awarded some prizes.
