With its spotlight on socially awkward people, theater company GOJIGEN is characterized by a style that consistently gives a positive spin on the individual’s way of life, inspiring feelings of kindness in the viewer. This piece, a remake of the troupe’s work “Extremely Kind Way” staged in 2011, is a marked expression of GOJIGEN’s core style. Building on the movie version “You, Your, Yours” on the theme of love for others directed by troupe leader Daigo Matsui and released in summer 2018, the troupe hopes the cycle of a play becoming a film and then a play again, as well as the thorough exploration and refinement of one theme, will develop and mature its theatrical piece.
