Anyone of any age can easily enjoy karaoke, and any singer can take the lead role. Karaoke culture originated in Japan and has spread to the rest of the world. The Tokyo Karaoke Matsuri 2019 is on an even bigger scale than the last event. As a forum for exchange between citizens, this event creates the opportunity for everyone to have fun, sing and chat. Organizers hope the event will whip up excitement as a cultural activity for local residents.

Qualifying rounds for the Matsuri are slated to be held in five city locations between April and August 2019, and the Grand Champion Tournament for district winners will be held in September.

【Tokyo Karaoke Matsuri Executive Committee】
The committee consists of three companies: free newspaper publisher Sankei Living Shimbun Inc., Nippon Cultural Broadcasting Radio Station and Enjoysing, which organizes karaoke tournaments. The committee aims to operate a tournament that widely communicates information and facilitates participation.
