Since this year has been announced as Turkish Culture Year in Japan, Turkish State Opera Ballet is going to perform their original ballet “Piri Reis”, who existed in 16th century as a naval captain of Ottoman Empire. It is a venture to present Oriental world by means of ballet, which is an European culture. As Turkey has been acting the roll of a bridge between West and East both culturally and geographically, the stage will be the one that only Turkey can present.
