(1)Kunitachi Geisho 123 & Nijumaru Theatre 2019
Details:
These theatrical performances accessible to everyone from babies to the elderly, from people with disabilities to non-Japanese, take a look at widely known works of children’s literature from Japan and overseas. This performance will feature “Princess Kaguya: Taketori Story,” with planning and production by Tachikawa-Sozosha and direction by Koji Kurasako (Tachikawa-Sozosha).

(2) Yoko Tawada, I, as a multifaceted presence vol.04 “My word, my Kunitachi” Reading Meeting
Details:
Participants each write about the city of Kunitachi and read their work with a rhythm and melody of their choosing. With critique by Yoko Tawada.

(3) Geisho Stage Creation (Related project of Yoko Tawada, I, as a multifaceted presence) Reading theatre “The crane mask that shines at night” “Orpheus and Izanagi”
Details:
Readers theater performance of two plays by Yoko Tawada, a writer from Kunitachi City who currently lives in Germany. “The crane mask that shines at night” is directed by Tomoko Kawaguchi, and “Orpheus and Izanagi” is directed by Yuna Koyama.

【Kunitachi public interest incorporated Foundation for Culture and Sports】
The purpose of the Kunitachi public interest incorporated Foundation for Culture and Sports is to contribute to the development of local communities and the formation of an enriched lifestyle for residents.
Project (1)
Tachikawa-Sozosha, which plans and produces Kunitachi Geisho 123 & Nijumaru Theatre, is an activity hub for cultural creation by professionals which makes use of places like the Tamagawa Elementary School, which closed down in 2004. Together with leading cultural figures and local people mainly from the Tama area, Tachikawa-Sozosha develops a broad range of programs and widely disseminates them in cooperation with each facility.
Project (2)
In the series“Yoko Tawada, I, as a multifaceted presence”we introduce the broad-ranging creative activities of Kunitachi City-born writer Yoko Tawada. For the fourth outing of the series local residents present their Kunitachi City-related writing in a reading style and format of their choosing under the theme of exploring the possibilities of words and language. Their work will be critiqued by Yoko Tawada.
Project (3)
In this stage creation series, we will pursue the possibilities for a local cultural facility implementing creative activities. For the first event in this series we offer a readers theater performance of two plays by Kunitachi City-born writer Yoko Tawada, with domestically and internationally active directors Tomoko Kawaguchi and Yuna Koyama in charge of one play each.
