Outline

Rhizomatiks hosted a forum session & event that focused on digital creativity. In the time when relationships between digital culture and human society has been shifting drastically on a global scale, we invited the world’s leading digital creators and developers to Tokyo for artists’ talks, discussions, workshops, and live performances to understand and share what is happening in deep down of those changes. From Tokyo, we presented possibilities and challenges for the future by gathering those creative minds.
The program consists of:
– Workshop for youth (hands-on workshops by renowned American media artists Kyle McDonald and Lauren McCarthy)
– Club event (performances by artists invited to Tokyo for Super Flying Tokyo and others artists)
– Talk Sessions (Commentary on the behind the scene of the production by Rhizomatiks members, presentations talks by international artists, and cross-disciplinary talks sessions by creators from different fields such as business, industry, and urban planning)
Participants joined through ticket purchase.
A diverse range of guests from Japan and abroad were invited, including artists, developers, ministries officials and financial experts.

Rhizomatiks explores new possibilities of technologies and expression focusing on experimental projects of media arts and digital arts that involve R&D heavy approach to present creativity that has never been seen before. Taking responsibility in every process of the project from hardware and software development to operations, Rhizomatiks keeps practicing collaboration with various creators with elaborate research on the relationship between humans and technologies.
