What we do

Project NAKA The First Performance “Going around”

  • Organization : Project NAKA
  • Section : Artistic and creative activity in Tokyo
  • Type of Grant Program : Single
  • Art Forms : Music

Outline

Project NAKA is an attempt to explore the broad potential of classical music through collaborations with other artistic fields.
In our daily lives we have contact with many different forms of culture, through which we experience joy, sadness, love, hate, longing, despair, an indescribable array of emotions. The power of imagination fostered this way provides a source for empathizing with the feelings and circumstances of others, for coming up with ideas that lead to success in things thought impossible, and for gathering your thoughts. It is something enriching which provides a sense of wellbeing. With this project we would like to look deeper into works of classical music by broadening the genre’s reach and embracing various different art forms within it. We can surely discover something there to interface with our lives.

Profile

Project NAKA
Project NAKA was established by pianist Haruka Izawa with the aim of conducting cross-genre exchange between art forms. Following on from Izawa’s appearance in the Auftakt Concert in fall 2020, Project NAKA’s First Performance will be held in 2021. With different artists participating in each performance, this project offers a new style of performance featuring a diverse program of classical music and art forms from other fields.
