This is the new stage production by Kamado Kitchen, a troupe that characteristically personifies landscape in its performances. In this work, the Internet, now an inextricable aspect of modern society, is portrayed as a vast ocean; performers playing the sodium chloride of the sea are identified as social media accounts, and fantasy journeys correspond to problems in the real world. Through this structure, the work considers the possible scenarios for the Internet and society in the future.

Kamado Kitchen
Formed in 2017 as a solo project to stage works by Kengo Kodama, it became a theater company in 2019.
Kamado Kitchen creates “fiction that reconstructs a radius of several millimeters to tens of thousands of kilometers in our lives” with a set motif for each work. The troupe is typified by its creation of characters that are derivative interpretations of landscapes seen by the human eye, such as cedar forests, clouds, and dust. Within a daily life portrayed with a pop art sensibility, the work flits between the relationship of people to motifs:landscape and imagination, symbols and the body, nature and society.
