Since 2016, FESTIVAL TANDEM has been working continuously to be a new creative platform for international cultural exchange, where artists can freely share their ideas and create their works. In order to keep the cultural movement alive even facing Covid-19 disaster, a concert in urban way will be held at Billboard Live Tokyo, with the aim of promoting international cultural exchange in the field of performance art.
The founder of minimal music, Terry Riley, who is currently in Japan due to the global outbreak of Covid-19, has agreed to be the main act for this project. He will be performing 2 different shows at Bllboard Live Tokyo: -Everything and Beyond- “Tokyo Premiere” with Sara Miyamoto at 1st show and improvised music to the film “Hochelaga, Land of Souls” by François Girard, a film director from Quebec, Canada at 2nd show. The opening act will be the French electronic music artist Krikor Kouchian. This is a combination that could only be possible in Tokyo today.
Ahead of the concert, the live streaming studio and channel Dommune will feature Terry Riley and a Japanese musician who admires him.
