We digitized the films of the artists who belonged to the animation production group “Animation 80”, which was active in the 1980s, and release them for free on the Vimeo channel of the applicant’s own label, in order to spread awareness of the Japanese art animation culture of the 1980s. In addition, as the closure of the mini-theatres due to the Corona disaster makes it difficult to show private films that do not go through commercial channels, we sought a new form of distribution for artists’ films using VOD.
