“TOKYO Chanson Festival” was started 10 years ago under the ideal of “Making Tama Area a Mecca for Chanson”. With the participation of general citizens and promoting networks among various organizations related to chansons, we aim at creating a major music cultural base hopefully to be referred to as “Chanson, That’s Tama!” , eventually vitalizing the local community through music and enhancing a cultural level of Tama Area as a whole.
This year’s “10th TOKYO Chanson Festival” was composed of “Chanson Promenade” participated by amateur singers on March 2 , “Chanson Drama、A.Saint-Exupéry; An Eternal Love” with chansons, drama and pictures and “Chanson Gallery” by18 professional singers including Junko Akimoto and Gomei Kishimoto as guest singers on March 3.
TOKYO Chanson Festival Committee
The Committee was established in 2011, with the participation of mainly chanson loving local citizens, to plan, organize and execute TOKYO Chanson Festival. Since May, 2012, the Committee has held Chanson Festival almost each year with the only exception of 2020 when the planned Festival was forced to be cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The Festival have also been supported by many local companies.
