Electronic music, which developed in the mid 20th century along with mixed music blending instrumental music with electronic sound, have long been widely accepted. In fact, in France and Germany which were pioneers in this field, it is not unusual to see the word “electronics” in concert programs; many composers have incorporated electroacoustics into their works, and many musicians choose to play them. What has not been introduced to Japan to any great extent is the group of works that use string instruments such as violins with electronic sound. This project “Germination – kasane” aims to provide an opportunity for audiences to have contact with a rich acoustic space in which the sounds of the violin and electronics overlap.
Co-performed by Ayane Kawamura (violin).
