Stilllive Studies is a performance learning platform for students and people who want to try their hand at performance. Stilllive will extend its potential as a platform through theoretical and practical reflection on performance in Japan and abroad, and knowledge production on various issues of the body. During the event, Stilllive members will conduct workshops, study sessions, and talks for participants based on their interests and experiences in performance. In collaboration with the Performance Lab at Tokyo University of the Arts, Stilllive aims to promote performance to the public by opening up opportunities for high school students and adults to experience performance. Each program will experience performance through a variety of methods and explore in-depth themes such as body, city, politics, gender, and community.
Stilllive
Stilllive aspires to be accessible as a performance platform and a forum for “co-collectivity.” In performance, the body is not only the subject of a work, but also always includes human uncertainty and randomness that transcends the work.Stilllive presents us with new expressive possibilities inherent in live performance, a relationship of correspondence between the artist’s body and the viewer, and a future image of performance based on the digital environment.
