Outline

Another Romeo and Juliet.
This is the story of the love and separation of an elderly couple named “Romeo and Juliet”, created by inexhaustibly reconstructing Shakespeare’s original text and adding sonnet and songs. The groundbreaking production by Ben Power (“The Lehman Trilogy”) was directed by Ryo Arai and premiered in Japan in 2021. It was translated by Kazuko Matsuoka, who has achieved a complete translation of Shakespeare’s 37 plays. This production is an updated revival of the 2021 version.
