Part of a rakugo performance series focusing on “gikotenrakugo,” “pseudo-classical rakugo” or new rakugo in a classical rakugo setting. Gikotenrakugo gives a sense of Edo atmosphere and humanity, and fits with contemporary values. A major goal of the series is for works generated through this project to be performed by multiple storytellers and become “classical rakugo.”
