The theme of this exhibition was the sharing of various motifs within works created using different expressive methods.
The drawing 《1 person 2 existences 3 bases 4 houses 5 o‘clock 6 leaves》, which is also the key visual for the exhibition, depicts lines of cubes indicating time, their shadows colored with tea leaves. The drawing next to it, 《kokubu, sugamo, fuda, chitose karasuyama》, features a car going around four houses, and uses pigment-dissolving rainwater collected from the four locations mentioned in the title. At the back of Subterranean’s warehouse is a video projection 《direction》, a work featuring someone doing practice swings with a homemade bat while rotating clockwise, and a car driving in the background. In the three-dimensional piece 《words》, tea leaves, tobacco leaves, and rainwater are incorporated into papier-mâché. The fluid use of shared motifs such as tea leaves, rainwater, cars etc. among the works, transcending the boundaries between image and substance, was an attempt by the artist to amplify her individual perspective throughout the entire exhibition space.
