Guruw
A band launched in Tokyo in August 2019. Guitarist Y.OZIMA, who per-forms in India and Tokyo, aims to create a new sound concept through his unique interpretation of the concept of rhythm in Indian culture, incorpo-rating into his music the landscapes and ideas that have left an impres-sion on him during his time in India. His first full album “initiations” was re-leased nationwide in October 2020. In the same month he gave a concert to mark the album’s release at Nakano ZERO (Momijiyama Culture Cen-ter). In early 2021 he embarked on a successful national tour to show-case the album. In January 2023, OZIMA launched an acoustic venture to expand and develop Guruw’s musicality and potential, and in the same month the band’s second album “acoustik” was released nationwide. Also in January, the band gave a concert at Shinjuku Pit Inn to promote the album. A band to watch, Guruw captivates listeners with a wide range of sounds veering from gentle to intense.
