In collaboration with Nishi-Azabu based galleries and art spaces along Gaien-Nishi-dori (Nishi-Azabu and Jingumae), NISHIAZABU ART PROJECT is aimed at forging a new approach to connecting numerous Tokyo citizens with art, and revitalizing the night-time economy through art.
More specifically, the project will be implemented as a “beta version” of events involving the neighborhood, including the circulating art event GAIEN-NISHI ART WEEKEND. The multi-project GAIEN-NISHI ART WEEKEND will see Nishi-Azabu based galleries teaming up on schemes to encourage reciprocal customer transfer. Sixteen art spaces along Gaien-Nishi-dori will also be joining forces to create shared handouts and web pages, host simultaneous openings for new exhibitions at various venues on the same day, to extend operating hours, and hold culturally-blended opening events.
