Akiyama Quartet
A quartet formed by classmates from Tokyo University of the Arts and consisting of the unparalleled permanent arrangement of piano trio and vocal.
It has received high praise for its never-before-seen program structure and the technical ability of quartet members, who perform a variety of pieces.
The objective of its activities is threefold, as follows:
1.
To put together programs that seamlessly connect chamber music works from all eras and in all styles and languages. Rather than simply including works that are rarely performed, throughout an entire program, the Quartet hopes to impart new appeal and aesthetic value to individual works which goes beyond the confines of any existing framework.
2.
The quartet will comprehensively explore the unknown possibilities of chamber music pieces that rarely feature in concerts, while also tackling works for duos and trios, etc.
3.
By including commissioned premieres of new works and arrangements in each performance, the quartet aims to support the creative activities of future composers and performers in terms of orchestration for chamber music and songs.
