Hachioji City is the only place in Metropolitan Tokyo that has been recognized as a national Japan Heritage site. Over two days on Saturday, November 4 and Sunday, November 5, the Japan Heritage Festival will bring together and introduce 104 Japan Heritage-designated areas across the country. As a pre-event for the Japan Heritage Festival, TAMA Traditional Performing Arts Festival in Hachioji will create a buzz throughout the entire Tama region, showcasing traditional culture and folk arts that have been passed down in the Tama region of Tokyo from antiquity to the present day.

Established in 1894 (Meiji 27), the chamber has worked towards economic development in Hachioji through the Meiji, Taisho, Showa, Heisei, and Reiwa eras. The Hachioji Chamber of Commerce and Industry currently has more than 4,300 member companies, and boasts a long history and tradition as the 41st chamber of commerce in Japan, and the 6th in the Kanto region.
