Outline of the project

Year 1 project

1.Provision of equipment and personnel for 6 theaters and performing arts groups wishing to implement support for the enjoyment of performances (sign language interpretation, subtitles, audio description, etc.)
2. Provision of sign language interpreters to work with deaf and hard of hearing theater personnel producing stage performances as communication support in 53 cases (200 people in total)

Year 2 project

1.Provision of equipment and personnel for 8 theaters and performing arts groups wishing to implement support for the enjoyment of performances (sign language interpretation, subtitles, audio description, etc.)
2. Provision of sign language interpreters to work with deaf and hard of hearing theater personnel producing stage performances as communication support in 118 cases (312 people in total)

Year 3 project

Continuation of the type of program carried out in the first and second years as detailed below. At the end, a response manual for reception areas was produced summarizing the results of three years, and achievements of the past three years were assessed with a view to making recommendations for the realization of even more effective support for enjoyment of theater performances.

2. Provision of sign language interpreters to work with deaf and hard of hearing theater personnel producing stage performances as communication support in 35 cases (152 people in total).

”Let’s enjoy performing arts together” is our mission statement.
Our goal is to support and give voice to every disabled audience member, including deaf and hard of hearing, who wishes to enjoy performing arts. The founding member of our organization is deaf. We believe it important to raise and share the opinions and perspectives of the disabled concerning performing arts in order to inform, improve, and expand the scope and efficacy of the performing arts field. Established in 2012, our group was certified as a nonprofit organization (NPO) in 2013.
