BONUS: 2nd ChoRenketsu (Super-collaborative) Creation The Afternoon of a Faun compilation
The primary focus of BONUS, a platform for dance creation, is a project (collaborative creation) in which artists from various genres produce dance on film to a specific theme. This time the theme is to try the interpretation of Nijinsky’s Afternoon of a Faun and to create the dance on video from it. BONUS committed three of emerging artists: internationally active butoh dancer Pijin Neji, eminent multi disciplinary artist Fuyuhiko Takata of Kodama Gallery, and the cutting-edge female playwright Satoko Ichihara. Besides, Aokid dances and Shota Yamauchi produces the short film for the lecture.
Moreover, Makoto Aida and Norimizu Ameya are invited as guest speakers to discuss about issues around expression in line with the theme.
BONUS was established as “a platform for dance creation”. Particular efforts go into filmed dance production, and a characteristic of this platform is to establish creative communication not only in theaters but online. This time around three people will take part in the production of video and performance. Pijin Neji received the Festival/Tokyo F/T Award for The Acting Motivation, and as well as performing in his own works, he also makes many guest appearances, such as performing in works by Toshiki Okada. Satoko Ichihara from theater group Q is a attractive playwright who carefully stares hard life of woman and sex-related issues. Prodigy Fuyuhiko Takata cuts a unique presence in the visual expressions which he himself appears in.
